Privacy Policy — Model Mentor Institute

Model Mentor LLC ("we", "us") operates Model Mentor Institute at app.mymodelmentor.com. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information we collect

Account information: email address, full legal name (collected at click-accept).
Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number — we receive a Stripe customer ID and subscription ID only.
Usage data: lesson playback sessions (which video, when, from what IP and device), progress markers, and click-accept signature events. This is the platform's legal audit trail (see §10 of our Participant Agreement).
Email events: bounces and spam complaints reported by Resend (our email infrastructure provider) for magic-link emails sent to your address.

2. How we use it

To deliver the course you purchased and authenticate you.
To process your subscription billing and refunds via Stripe.
To enforce the IP and DRM provisions of the Participant Agreement — every video stream carries a dynamic floating watermark with your email and user ID, and we log the playback session with your IP and device for forensic trace.
To send transactional email (sign-in links, billing notices).
To maintain a tamper-evident audit log of payment, access, and agreement events for compliance.

3. Who we share with

We use the following third-party processors. Each has its own privacy policy.

Stripe — payments, billing portal, subscription management. (stripe.com/privacy)

VdoCipher — video hosting, encoding, DRM, watermarking. (vdocipher.com/legal/privacy-policy)
Resend — transactional email delivery. (resend.com/legal/privacy-policy)

Sentry — error tracking. (sentry.io/privacy)

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data retention

We retain account, payment, and audit-log data for as long as you have an active subscription and for at least seven (7) years after subscription cancellation, in line with US tax record-keeping obligations and to defend against potential IP-infringement disputes under §4 of the Participant Agreement. Email-event data (bounces, complaints) is retained indefinitely as part of the audit log.

5. Your rights

You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccuracies, or request deletion of your account. We honor deletion requests within 30 days, subject to our retention obligations above (audit-log entries that are part of the legal record cannot be deleted, but we will dissociate them from your identity where practical).

6. Cookies and analytics

We use a single first-party session cookie (issued by Supabase) to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. We do not sell tracking data to ad networks.

7. Children

The platform is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. International transfers

Our processors are primarily based in the United States. By subscribing, you consent to your data being stored and processed in the US.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated via email and via a banner on the platform. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
